Senior Legal Counsel - Funds + Regulatory - Investment Manager

We are working exclusively with a growing alternative investment manager who is looking to hire a legal counsel to join its London office. This position reports directly to the General Counsel, and you will be working with a high level of responsibility as the 'go to' lawyer for the London office.

The successful candidate will be working closely with the business in a small team where their contributions are highly valued. This is a truly broad role as you will be a 'go to' for the business on a range of legal matters. Responsibilities include advising on fund formation, advising on regulatory matters such as AIFMD and other compliance reporting requirements, openness to learn and develop an understanding of US regulatory rules, as well as advising on ad hoc legal issues such as reviewing marketing legal issues.

Skills Required

• Qualified lawyer with 5+ years' PQE
• Experience gained in advising on financial regulation (AIFMD) and fund formation (ideally, equity experience)
• Exposure to advising on US regulatory matters (organisation is registered with SEC and the NFA) would be advantageous but not essential
• Ability to work autonomously and experience working with senior stakeholders
• In-house experience gained through a permanent position or in-house secondment is desirable
