Overall Job Purpose: Legal Partner to the Commercial business in the UK/IE - Reporting to the General Counsel for UK/SE & NL-Nordics and working alongside the UK/IE and the wider North-West Hub legal teams, this role is responsible for supporting and delivering on the New Launches (including generic launches) Innovative and branded products & Digital.
A Day in the Life of a Senior Legal Counsel...
- You will be acting as a legal lead on areas of responsibility and legal partner to the commercial business providing legal input into strategy, risk assessment and commercialisation to support Teva’s Pivot to Growth Strategy.
- You will be partnering with the Business Innovation team to successfully launch, bring to market & commercialise innovative products and biosimilars.
- You will be liaising with the local Regs, Compliance PV, Quality and Medical teams and the Regulators (MHRA, HNS, HSE, NICE) to ensure compliance.
- You will support medical and compliance teams with ABPI related matters, submissions to the Regulators, internal and external audits and interpretation and application of legal requirements.
- You will be partnering with and supporting GC UK/SE & NL-Nordics, Governmental Affairs team and Commercial Directors to manage relationship with Trade Association in the UK and Ireland. Representing Legal at various internal local Committees.
- You will be liaising with the EU IP Litigation team, UK/IE business and local European teams to successfully launch at risk generic medicine across European markets.
- You will support the Commercial business, Business development and Sales teams by driving complex negotiation & contracting across the supply chain and customers. Leading negotiations and drafting extensive legal agreements for collaboration to launch smart digital medicine and devices.
- You will be partnering with the business to deliver on the growth strategy for established brands. Working closely with the business to build robust relationships with business partners and customers (supporting with commercials schemes, rebates homecare and PSP arrangements).
- You will be the Legal Lead for Data, Digitisation & Privacy. Partnering with Commercial Excellence, Customer Experience, Digital, Marketing and Omnichannel teams to provide strategic legal expertise on customer data harvesting, consent, analytics and various Privacy and GDPR matters. Providing inputs on digitisation, automatization, negotiate and draft data capture and analytics contracts with third parties.
- You will be partnering with the EU Antitrust Lead & GC UK/SE & NL-Nordics to ensure compliance. Providing UK/IE business with the legal advice and training on competition law. Liaising with EU IP Litigation team on IP disputes.
- You will work closely with European legal teams and GC for North-West Hub to share knowledge and ensure overall alignment with EU policies. Partnering with the EU Legal Lead for DP, Cyber and Digital to drive digital innovation, AI, data commercialisation and privacy compliance across the European market.
- You will support the GC UK/SE & NL-Nordics with various corporate reporting and planning (SoX reporting, audits, etc), policy and procedure development and general corporate governance.
- You will have other duties as required at the direction of the GC UK/SE & NL-Nordics and Senior Executives including strategising and implementing business growth initiatives and strategic corporate projects.
- You will be partnering across UK & Ireland business units to provide ad-hoc and strategic commercially viable and pragmatic legal advice.
- You will train and guide junior team members on various projects and contracts. Managing relationship with external counsels.
- You will anticipate internal and/or external business challenges and/or recommending process and service improvements. Managing legal risk in a manner that supports and facilitates their continued commercial success.

Do you have...?
- Law degree
- Preferred post-qualification experience of at least 5-7 years although candidates outside of this bracket will be considered
- Experience within the pharmaceutical or health sector and in particular new product launches
- Ideally UK qualified, but will consider relevant legal experience within the UK.
- Experience of operating in an in-house legal function with proven commercial acumen and business partnering experience would be an advantage.
- A desire to work as part of a close-knit team and to support other legal team members as and when required.
