Senior Lecturer - International Fashion Business
Part time/Permanent
29.6 hours
HE Senior Lecturer (£44,477 - £56,292 p.a. pro rata)
About the Role
The Fashion Management, Marketing and Communication department houses fashion business courses covering the full spectrum of the commercial side of fashion at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The courses recruit high calibre students with strong academic and creative abilities and are designed to develop those talents to ensure our graduates' unique combination of skills are well suited for the fashion/lifestyle arena in which they work.
As a Senior Lecturer, you will teach across our undergraduate and postgraduate courses to further strengthen our team. You will also be required to contribute to a range of modules across the subject area and should be able to offer the required attributes as detailed in the person specification.
Your main focus will be our one year top-up BA (Hons) International Fashion Business course (IFB), which attracts a diverse mix of students. The IFB course is also delivered in Hong Kong by our partner HKDI; you will support this important, long-standing partnership whilst also delivering some teaching at their institution.
Ideally, you will possess the experience and skills required to act as Course Leader and take responsibility for the management, planning, design, and development of the course.
You will have an excellent understanding of the subject, as well as knowledge of the current professional practice within the global fashion and associated industries and an ability to communicate this knowledge to others. We are seeking an experienced academic with knowledge of fashion business, trend, buying, marketing, and communications alongside experience of major project/dissertation supervision.
For more details, please take a look at the role profile. We'll still consider applications even if you don't meet every single one of the requirements, so don't be put off if you don't match them perfectly.
Interviews: provisionally the week commencing 16th January
