Senior Learning and Development Manager (12 mth FTC)

Senior Learning & Development Manager

This is a 12 month contract to cover maternity leave, from May 2025 until May 2026. We are looking for an experienced Learning & Development senior level Manager with global L&D experience from within a complex, PE-Backed company with hyper growth. You must be able to start no later than the end of April.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and managing a small L&D team to deliver global L&D for the organisation
  • A mix of operational and strategic work, ensuring development and implementation of a global L&D strategy, ensuring consistency across the different locations whilst remaining aware of markets and cultural nuances
  • Leading the selection, implementation and roll-out of a LMS to serve a global workforce
  • Working with stakeholders to influence, guide and promote a global continuous learning mindset and developing management and leadership programmes
  • Managing the L&D budget, allocating resources to maximise impact and value

This is a full-time, maternity cover position working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. You will be expected to be in the office 3 days a week.

There isn't any onsite parking, however it's just 5 minutes' walk from Oxford city centre train station.

Interviews will consist of an initial online interview to assess culture fit, and competencies followed by a 2nd interview with the SLT.

The Company

Our client is a growing energy company.

To be successful in this role you will be resilient, results oriented, action focused and have the courage to take calculated risks and have the ability to think big-picture while executing detailed plans with precision.

You will have experience of procuring a new LMS system for global use, from selection to implementation and have a strong understanding of what quantifying data is needed from a L&D booking service in order to provide efficient and relevant meaningful reporting, globally. You will therefore, be experienced in working with evolving L&D digital systems, infrastructure and digital authoring tools. Specifically MS forms, SharePoint lists, MS flow, MS automate, Power Apps , Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, iSpring.

You must have demonstrated success in leading and developing a small L&D team to achieve exceptional results, including driving individual accountability and have the credibility, confidence and relationship-building skills to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams. You must have a 'roll-your-sleeves up approach' to getting close to the processes and seeing how to fix things to improve the performance of the team.

You will need to be able to work with ambiguity and be able to navigate and thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving business landscape. You will have a deep commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development, for all employees at every stage of their employee journey.

Location

Hybrid - 3 days a week in the central Oxford office. You must live locally/commutable distance within the Oxfordshire area and you must be able to start this contract before the end of April. Long notice periods cannot be considered.
