Key Responsibilities
Provide expert legal advice and representation on adult social care matters to Council Members and Officers.
Lead and manage a diverse caseload, drafting complex legal documents and preparing instructions for Counsel.
Offer legal guidance on major council projects, ensuring compliance and risk management.
Represent the Council at meetings, committees, and panels, delivering procedural and constitutional advice.
Support and mentor junior legal team members, deputising for the Principal Adult Social Care Lawyer as required.
Keep abreast of legislative changes, case law, and policy updates, delivering training sessions to internal teams.
Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
About You
We are looking for a skilled and motivated legal professional with:
A Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, Barrister, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, or equivalent substantial legal experience.
Significant post-qualification experience in adult social care law, including legal representation and advisory work.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly.
Excellent research skills to provide well-informed legal advice.
Ability to manage multiple cases effectively under pressure while meeting deadlines.
