An exciting opportunity for a multi-talented Full stack Senior Java Developer / Technical Architect has arisen at the UK offices of this global leading provider of technology-enabled shelf-edge media solutions to the retail and consumer products industry. Joining their small team we are looking for an experienced IT Professional with 5-10 years + commercial experience, who is comfortable with around both front-end and back end coding languages who can also participate in development as well as communicating directly with customers. You will take the lead role in the IT team (acting as lead technology officer and “ right-hand” to the UK Business Director) and have full responsibility for their core Java application for strategic changes and upgrades, review, evaluation & signoff of other developers deliverables. Their product is a SaaS suite of applications running on Azure. You will be responsible for managing and evaluating the deliverables of the small UK team of developers, liaising with the US counterparts around infrastructure and architecture, standing up new clients and managing new functionality into present client implementations.

Your principal objective on joining the client would be to get a clear and in-depth knowledge of the core code base and for this you will need to be a senior full stack java developer with a DBA level understanding of data bases. Previous expertise around systems architecture, experience of managing a SaaS solution in AZURE and a level of understanding of C++ would be an added bonus.

Additional responsibilities:

• 3rd line support of production systems.
• Tactical Build for sales opportunity POCs

• Technical sales.
• Config between systems in AZURE liaising with US team.
• Config around components of the systems & how they interact
• Config of Data base structures for a new client
• Config Infrastructure & applications around robustness security, value for money etc.
• Architecture around New partner integration (DMSIs etc)
• ICE (C++ application) changes (Supported by key remote developer)

Key skills required:

• Java 8, Spring, Hibernate, Tomcat, Jetty
• Javascript, JSP, JQuery, Bootstrap, SQL, JSON, XML
• Multithreading, MVC, Database design, Web services, REST
• Proven experience as a full stack developer or similar role
• Experience developing desktop and mobile applications
• Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g. C++, C#, Java) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)
• Familiarity with databases (e.g. Postgres, SqlServer), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX design
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Great attention to detail
• Organizational skills
• An analytical mind
• Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or relevant field
