Job description

My client is an established Legal company looking for a Senior IT Technician to join their in-house team in Guildford, supporting around 50 users. You'll handle everything from deploying devices and managing Microsoft 365 to troubleshooting day-to-day issues and liaising with suppliers - all with the backing of an IT Manager and a third-party support provider for escalations.

There will be opportunity to work from home on specific days.

Key Responsibilities
  • First point of contact for IT support across the business (in person and remote)
  • Deploy and configure new laptops and devices
  • Administer and secure the Microsoft 365 environment (users, MFA, mail security)
  • Provide remote desktop support and troubleshoot hardware/software/network issues
  • Monitor and maintain antivirus and endpoint protection systems
  • Manage users and permissions in Azure AD and SharePoint Online
  • Liaise with external suppliers for hardware/software licensing and escalated support
  • Support ongoing IT improvement projects and system upgrades
The Person:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has at least one year of experience in an IT support role or at least two years of experience in an office environment with a recognised IT qualification.
  • Has good interpersonal skills-communicating effectively via phone, email, and face-to-face.
  • Has strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word, Excel, Outlook and is eager to learn and develop their expertise in other applications and IT support.
  • Can adapt to changing priorities and work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a legal or insurance environment would be an advantage but is not essential.
