As a Senior Investment Operations Analyst you will ensure daily, periodic and ad-hoc trade lifecycle services are completed to deliver seamless service to Quilter Investors (QI) business teams.
You will support the Investment Operations Manager in building out the QI operating model, especially for the new transaction reporting requirements around MIFIR, potential requirements for SFTR as well as manage the existing reporting model around EMIR and support the implementation of any required business changes that impact the Investment Operations' systems or processes.

The Regulatory Specialism:

  • Manage all aspects of MIFIR, EMIR & SFTR reporting to regulator or relevant ARM, TA, etc.
  • Industry & Regulatory landscape knowledge/market awareness of regulatory reporting.
  • Project manage new requirements / changes to regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Advanced Excel/VBA knowledge to support reconciliation macro tool enhancements.
  • Perform daily reconciliations of delegated reporting for internally managed portfolios and additional oversight of sub-advised Funds and monthly attestation processes.
  • Investigate any errors/omissions/anomalies with delegated reporting counterparties.
  • Prepare any Errors & Omissions Reports and coordinate submission to the Regulator.
  • Coordinate amendments to Delegated Reporting Agreements/ISDAs/CSAs with QI Legal and external counterparties.
  • Chair weekly EMIR & MIFIR Working Group meetings.
  • Lead the buildout of a QI EMIR & MIFIR manual/handbook.
  • Manage the relationship with DTCC & LSEG including facilitating the receipt of reports and any required changes.
  • Coordinate the completion of annual Due Diligence questionnaire by delegated reporting counterparties.
  • Perform Uncleared Margin Rules (UMR) and Clearing threshold calculations.
  • Build knowledge within the team on all aspects of regulatory reporting.
The Senior Investment Operations Analyst (regulatory reporting specialist) will also:
  • Review and update existing operational processes and procedures to define the activities to support the operating model.
  • Ensure the integrity and reconciliation processes of the QI data are robust, comprehensive, precise and are followed by the Investment Operations team.
  • Lead investigations to review incidents or errors that occur and work to identify the root cause to prevent a reoccurrence.
  • Strive to identify ways to improve operations' service quality and delivery standards.
  • Assist the Investment Operations Manager to ensure all external service providers are delivering to agreed service, support and quality standards, and complete regular due diligence reviews.
  • Perform operational impact assessments required for any new instruments, new brokers and product changes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of trade lifecycle, including derivative instruments and collateral management, and proven operational experience in financial services with sound knowledge of a wide range of investment products including Equities, Investment Trusts, CIS, ETDs, Bonds, FX, CDS.
Importantly you will have experience in dealing with third party providers, administrators and platforms such as Clearing Brokers, Custodians, Auditors, and maintain strong oversight and support activity.
Your intermediate to advanced Excel capability will aid your ability to consume large volumes of data, and create clear, concise reporting for management information. You will also be delivery focused, with a high level of attention to detail, and have excellent interpersonal skills.
Ideally, you will have knowledge of order management systems such as Thinkfolio and Markit EDM.
