The role

As a Senior Internal Auditor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Providing independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve Babcock International Group operations by delivering an objective evaluation of the existing internal financial, non-financial and risk controls.

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for completing internal audit activities consistent with the standards established by the Institute of Internal Auditors:

1. Identify business objectives, risks and evaluate key controls.
2. Assist in the design and execution of operational audits to ensure adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control environment, compliance with Company policies and procedures, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
3. Develop preliminary findings and realistic recommendations to improve / enhance the internal control environment.
4. Prepare accurate, logical, and detailed workpapers clearly describing the work performed, test results and conclusions reached.
5. Assist in testing the effectiveness of the Company's DoC control framework and work with management to ensure remediation is implemented for deficiencies identified.

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements- 2 days in the office per week with regular travel required.

Essential experience of the Senior Internal Auditor:

1. Demonstrable experience of audit, risk and control experience.
2. Proactive mind set in understanding the overall business needs and changes.
3. Demonstrate analytical thinking, sound judgement and attention to detail.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
5. Demonstrable application of Babcock purpose and principles.

Qualifications for the Senior Internal Auditor:

1. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), actuarial qualifications or Certified Information System Auditor will be of added advantage.
2. Recognized professional qualification i.e., Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) would be advantageous.

Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
