Job description

The Client:

A leading global insurance and reinsurance firm is looking for a 5+ PQE insurance lawyer to join their legal team. As a senior lawyer within the legal team, you will also support on data privacy matters for the team. Working autonomously, you will be responsible for a range of legal matters across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of insurance-specific contracts, including broker agreements, binding authority agreements, etc.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including partnership agreements, supplier agreements, vendor contracts, and customer terms and conditions.
  • Take the lead on data privacy legal matters within the team, advising on compliance with UK and EU data protection laws, including GDPR and the UK Data Protection Act.
  • Providing legal support on regulatory law on existing regulation and horizon scanning for any upcoming regulations.
  • Working in multidisciplinary teams across various departments, including underwriting, product development, claims, marketing, and human resources, ensuring that all business activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will be a 5+ PQE Insurance lawyer, preferably with experience in a law firm or insurance firm.
  • Prior experience advising on data privacy matters would be advantageous for the role.
  • Excellent contract negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
