Senior Physiotherapist - Bank Exeter Hospital | Physiotherapy | Bank | Part time Up to £21.80 per hour, depending on experience

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Inpatient Physiotherapist you will:

  1. Deliver high quality, effective clinical care.

  4. Ensure on-going monitoring of the standard of treatment provided.
  5. Be compliant with all professional, clinical and integrated governance standards and participate in clinical audit and other quality assurance processes.
  6. Be able to offer multiple weekend shifts throughout the year to contribute to the weekend rota.
About us

Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital is based next to the RD&E hospital in Wonford, Exeter. The hospital has 2 theatres, a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre, and an Endoscopy suite. We specialise in elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology including invasive procedures, general surgery, plastics and cosmetic surgery, ENT and gynaecology.

Job responsibilities

Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability. If you want to make a big impact on the wellbeing of your patients, here's where you can. Our Physiotherapy team in Exeter Hospital currently have an opportunity for a Senior Inpatient Ward Physiotherapist (Orthopaedics & General Surgery) to join us on the bank. As part of the team, you will have clinical support available from your Regional clinical lead along with a team of experienced Physiotherapists and leadership from the management team on site.

You will see a wide range of post-operative cases, playing a key role in helping our patients achieve, maintain and recover to the level of health and wellbeing that they aspire to. You will work within a multidisciplinary team including Nurses, AHPS and consultants in order to optimise the health and recovery of our patients.

To succeed as a Senior Inpatient Physiotherapist you will:
  1. Have a BSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
  2. Have a minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience, having worked on an inpatient ward and with a high level of orthopaedic knowledge.
  3. Understand and have experience of both the Public NHS and Private healthcare service.
  4. Demonstrate evidence of further professional training and continual professional development.
  5. Be a confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with patients, the general public and other healthcare professionals.
  6. Be able to auscultate a chest.
  7. Be a competent and confident IT user with strong organisation skills.
  8. Have the ability to prioritise and deal with your varied workload in an effective and timely manner.
