Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer specializing in Enterprise Security with a focus on Azure and AWS services to join our Infrastructure Engineering team at Centrica. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and manage secure infrastructure solutions on these cloud platforms, with a deep understanding of cloud security best practices and infrastructure as code.

Location: Home-based with occasional travel to Windsor

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, implement, and manage secure infrastructure solutions on Azure and AWS.
  2. Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards.
  3. Conduct security assessments and audits, recommending remediation strategies.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into all infrastructure aspects.
  5. Monitor and respond to security incidents, conducting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  6. Stay updated with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.
  7. Provide expertise in security investigations and incident management.

Technical Skills:

  1. Expertise in managing Defender for Endpoint and XDR policies.
  2. Proficiency with Microsoft Defender platforms (Defender for Identity, Cloud, and Cloud Apps).
  3. Experience with Microsoft Sentinel for SIEM and Linux Log collectors.
  4. Strong Kusto Query Language (KQL) skills.
  5. Strong Linux administration skills.
  6. Expertise in cloud engineering and automation.
  7. Strong CI/CD processes and tools skills.
  8. Proficiency in using Infrastructure as Code.
  9. Familiarity with Microsoft Purview products (Compliance Manager, DLP, Information Protection).
  10. Knowledge of security tools and technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption solutions).

Nice to Have Skills:

  1. Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, and PowerShell DSC.
  2. Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  3. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 services.
  4. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
