Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Information Security Analyst with refined skills and extensive technical knowledge who has a strong understanding of security principles to join our growing security team on a 1-year fixed-term contract (FTC). This role will play a key part in safeguarding our organization's environment and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data. The ideal candidate will ensure that security is seamlessly and effectively integrated with security best practices and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Adeptness in the architecture of applications and understanding orchestration tools. Strong problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Security Expertise:
    • Design, implement, and manage security controls for our cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
    • Design advanced controls and processes for platforms such as Microsoft 365, including Defender XDR.
    • Conduct regular security assessments and threat hunting of our infrastructure to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud and infrastructure security threats and best practices.
    • Recommend and implement cloud-native security solutions (e.g., Cloud IAM, encryption).
  2. Security Operations and Analysis:
    • Act as an escalation path for security information and event management (SIEM) alerts from the Security Operations Centre (SOC).
    • Investigate and analyze security incidents, leading the technical response and remediation efforts where required.
    • Participate in incident response planning and table-top exercises.
  3. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with development and operations teams to integrate security best practices into the cloud lifecycle.
    • Communicate complex security issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Assist in the development and delivery of security awareness training for cloud users within the organization.
  4. Strategic Security Initiatives:
    • Assist in the development and implementation of the overall security strategy, focusing on the cloud environment and architecture of security solutions.
    • Stay informed of evolving security regulations and compliance requirements related to the cloud.
    • Identify and recommend emerging cloud security technologies and solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree desirable or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in information security.
  • Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles, including identity and access management, data encryption, network security, and compliance.
  • Experience with security assessment tools and techniques such as vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Certifications such as Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), AWS Certified Security - Specialty, or equivalent are highly desired.
