Liverpool John Moores University is offering an experienced information professional the opportunity to join a busy and motivated Data Protection team located within our Legal and Governance Services.


You will assist and support the Data Protection Officer in all matters relating to information governance and records management. This will involve working independently to manage a varied and demanding workload and project work.


You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely responses to all Freedom of Information and Data Subject's Rights requests throughout the whole process and will be responsible for maintaining the Information Compliance Register and other compliance documents.


With experience of working in a legal environment, we are looking for a proactive and committed individual with the experience and understanding of information governance legislation including (but not limited to) the General Data Protection Regulation, Data Protection Act 2018, the Freedom of Information Act 2000, and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004.


You will work with colleagues across the University and will provide guidance to colleagues on how to interpret the legislation and apply exemptions.


An excellent attention to detail and exceptional written and verbal communication skills are pre-requisites for this role, as is a strong organisational ability, to ensure deadlines and standards are consistently met in a professional manner.


Reporting to the University Data Protection Officer & Head of Records Management, you will play a key role in providing a high-quality information governance and compliance service for the University.


You are required to be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
