We are currently seeking a dynamic Senior Data Analyst to join our team. Your analytical expertise will be crucial in identifying solutions to improve healthcare processes and drive quality within our team.

We are looking for an individual with:

• Knowledge of IT tools/systems such as SQL and Power BI.
• The ability to interpret highly complex informatics concepts and guidance and communicate them clearly to a range of people.
• Track record of delivering high quality work in demanding timescales and managing resources effectively.

Main duties of the job

• Responsible for the scoping development and delivery of Power BI business intelligence solutions that will deliver operational insights for users within HEIW and other stakeholders.
• Responsible for producing high-quality reports, dashboards, and presentations using various data sources. This includes workforce intelligence reports for Chief Executives and the Welsh Government.
• The role involves coordinating data returns from Health Boards and Trusts, communicating complex statistical information, analysing data anomalies, and providing datasets to stakeholders.
• Key responsibilities include delivering performance information, trend analysis, benchmarking, and intelligence modelling to support business needs.
• The role requires developing training materials, delivering training on workforce dashboards, and promoting data and analytics culture within HEIW.
• The analyst will also be responsible for designing and implementing data audits, analysing data errors, and continually improving information products.

Qualifications and Knowledge

• Degree in a relevant topic area (e.g., computing, informatics, mathematics) or equivalent experience.
• Evidence of further development and or education and training.
• Specialist knowledge of information requirements and standards within a healthcare/social care environment.
• Experience of working with Workforce data.

Experience

• Experience of working autonomously using own discretion.
• Significant experience within an information environment.
• Experience of working with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Knowledge of information requirements and standards within a healthcare and social care environment.
• Previous experience of delivering projects within timescales.
• Advanced IT and analytical and statistical skills and experience with knowledge of IT tools such as, MS SQL, Power BI, DAX.
• Experience of developing dashboards using e.g., Power BI.

Skills and Attributes

• Ability to interpret highly complex informatics concepts.
• Practical knowledge of Data Warehousing, relational Databases, and information systems.
• Track record of delivering high quality work in demanding timescales.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective team working and working relationships.
• The ability to travel between sites in a timely manner.
• Welsh Speaker (Level 1) or willingness to work towards.
