The Vacancy

Envireau Water, part of the RSK Group, have an exciting new opportunity to support our next growth phase. We're seeking a Senior Hydrologist to join our team.

Available office working locations: Stirling, Scotland; Melbourne; Derbyshire; Shrewsbury; Shropshire; and Aske, North Yorkshire.

Responsibilities:
  1. Developing hydrological assessments, including flood risk assessments, water resource assessments, and drought risk assessments.
  2. Conducting hydrological modelling and analysis to support conceptual site models and risk assessments.
  3. Preparing technical reports, proposals, and other documents for clients and regulators.
  4. Communicating effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulators.
  5. Collaborating with principal staff members on project management and technical guidance.
  6. Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. A postgraduate degree level qualification in either Catchment Management, Hydrology, Geomorphology, Geography, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology, or similar.
  2. At least 4 years demonstrable practical and technical experience.
  3. Experience of hydrological calculations using ReFH2 and WINFAP.
  4. Experience in the application of hydraulic modelling software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, and HEC-RAS.
  5. Experience with Grapher, GIS, and/or AutoCAD.
  6. Experience of UK planning regulations.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to a non-technical audience.
  8. Team and project management skills commensurate with your grade and experience.
  9. A valid full UK driving licence.

The Package:
  1. A salary in the region of £30,000 to £40,000 with a higher salary potentially negotiable.
  2. Permanent contract, working 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday.
  3. A hybrid working pattern is encouraged with flexible start and finish times and family-friendly working arrangements available.
