Job description

Senior HR Shared Services Manager

Location: South Midlands (Hybrid 3 days in the office 2 days from home)

Salary: £65-78,000 + car allowance + bonus + career opportunities

The Senior HR Shared Services Manager will build, shape, lead and oversee the HR Shared Services operations across the UK.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless delivery of Payroll & Benefits Administration, Employee Services, Employee lifecycle administration, Data Management, Reporting, HRIS, Policies, & process and Talent Acquisition process. The focus is to drive operational excellence by adhering to standards and SLAs, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and transformation.

The role:

  1. Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the HR Shared Services team, ensuring high-quality service delivery and excellent customer service.
  2. HR Operations: Oversee HR operations including Payroll & Benefits Administration, Employee Services and lifecycle administration, HRIS delivery, Data Management, Reporting, and policies & process.
  3. Process Improvement: Implement HR policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Drive standardisation, consolidation, automation, and process improvements.
  4. Compliance: Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  5. Collaboration: Collaborate with HR areas and business leaders to understand their needs and align HR services accordingly.
  6. Performance Monitoring: Monitor HR metrics and use data to drive continuous improvement. Ensure adherence to standards and SLAs.
  7. Transformation: Lead the identification, development, and execution of process improvement program initiatives, supporting the global strategic objectives of the Shared Services organisation.
  8. Employee Experience: Improve Employee overall experience with HR services by focusing our support on self-services with proper standards.
  9. Technology Integration and Automation: Lead HRIS agenda (workday) to implement updates to HR technology, maintain and enhance current systems.
  10. Vendor Management: Engage and manage necessary vendor relationships on behalf of HR function, ensuring compliance with annual budgeting process and contract reviews/renewals.
  11. Knowledge Management: Ensure the effective deployment and ongoing maintenance of an internal HR knowledge library.
  12. Team Management: Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  13. Confidentiality and Compliance: Maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive HR data and information - ensuring compliance with data privacy, GDPR, and other relevant data management regulations.

The person:
  1. Degree educated and L7 in HR related field.
  2. Progressive HR experience with a strong background in leading an HR Shared Services Centre.
  3. Knowledge, skills and experience in HR operations, HR Shared Services, project or system implementations and/or change management in complex organisations.
  4. In depth experience with payroll systems and vendors, HRIS systems such as Oracle, SAP and SuccessFactors, Workday.
  5. Experience in building and leading high performing teams.
  6. Experience with process review and mapping.
  7. Dynamic style and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Outstanding collaboration skills, and ability to work independently and systematically.
  9. Strong execution skills. Able to work with a fast-paced, high pressure, and dynamic client group.
