Senior Highway Engineer (Development Management)

Working on the Essex Highways Integrated Services contract in partnership with Essex County Council. The key purpose of the role is to ensure design and construction of developer's highway infrastructure works (both new highway construction and improvements to the existing highway network) are acceptable to the Highway Authority for adoption as public highway, maintainable at the public expense.
The role requires the ability to manage the implementation of highway works (developer funded) associated with approved planning consents to ensure they are designed and implemented in accordance with planning obligations and the policies of the County Council.
With extensive knowledge and application of Highway legislation, including Construction (Design and Management) Regulations and experience of a wide range of relevant engineering techniques and procedures. The successful candidate will be required to liaise as required directly with internal and external stakeholders, strategic partners and other providers through detailed design to end of Maintenance Period.
