The Senior Healthcare Assistant (HCA) is part of the multidisciplinary team delivering and recording a range of personal care activities. The Senior HCA also delivers higher level fundamental clinical care to patients. Support and supervision is provided by a Registered Nurse or Registered Nursing Associate. The Senior HCA has a responsibility to support, supervise and assess new staff and delegate basic tasks to the HCA team. The Senior HCA assists in ensuring the effective running of the ward/department.

We are excited to recruit into the position of a senior healthcare assistant for the Children's Surgical Ward. We are looking for a healthcare assistant that has paediatric experience (children's surgical experience desirable). They will be entered onto our HCA foundation programme. Desirable for care certificate completion, if not you will be offered a band 2 position and offered band 3 once you have completed your care certificate within 6 months.

Staff are required to comply with Trust policies on Safeguarding and to undertake the appropriate level of mandatory in-service training in this area.

Salary: £24,071 to £25,674 a year per annum pro rata
