Senior Safety Advisor – Southern Region
Location: South–East Region
Salary: GBP55,000–GBP60,000 (dependent on experience)
Employment Type: Permanent

Are you an experienced Senior Safety Advisor looking for an opportunity with a busy and growing contractor? Our client is a specialist civil engineering subcontractor working on highways and civils projects, and is looking for a dedicated Safety Advisor to join their team covering the Southern region.

The Role:
  1. Develop, implement, and maintain health & safety policies to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
  2. Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying potential hazards and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  3. Provide expert guidance and support to project teams, promoting a proactive and positive safety culture.
  4. Lead and participate in incident investigations.
  5. Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to site staff and subcontractors.
  6. Work closely with project and site managers to integrate safety procedures into daily operations.
  7. Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  8. Act as a key point of contact for external audits, regulatory inspections, and client safety requirements.
  9. Encourage a collaborative approach to safety, ensuring teams understand the importance of compliance.
Requirements:
  1. NEBOSH qualified.
  2. Highways experience is highly desirable.
  3. Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations within infrastructure or civil engineering.
  4. A proactive, team–oriented approach to safety management.
  5. Willingness to travel to sites within the area.
Package:
  1. GBP55,000–GBP60,000 per annum depending on experience.
