Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join the UHNM Hands team within the Therapies Directorate at the University Hospital of North Midlands (UHNM). This post offers the opportunity to work in a progressive University Hospital having strong links with Keele University and supervising students and apprentices from both Coventry and Derby Universities. This post will work across both County and Royal Stoke sites covering clinic, group and outpatient work.

Main duties of the job

This successful candidate would have the opportunity to work within the experienced Hand team at UHNM which provides care to patients post-surgical and following trauma or burns of their hand. The post will involve delivering outpatient rehabilitative care and involvement in the Hand Fracture clinics at UHNM across both sites. Supervision will be provided within the hands team by Occupational and Physiotherapist Advanced therapists, Principal Therapists and continuous development is supported through appraisal, internal training and external learning.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
  • Registered with HCPC
  • CPD relevant to specialty area

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

  • Minimum of 18 months post-graduate experience as an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist
  • Experience of audits
  • Experience of supporting/supervising staff
  • Experience gained within a hands setting
  • Experience of relevant specialty area
  • Trained clinical educator

Personal Qualities

  • Experience within NHS outpatient setting
  • Evidence of self-development
