What does a Senior Graphic Designer do at One Retail Group?

You’ll be working as part of our talented Design team as the department continues to grow in response to our overall business success. Reporting to our Head of Design, you’ll manage two Midweight Graphic Designers, ensuring that their continued development is front of mind, leading by example by producing great work yourself. Our Design team are responsible for the representation of our various brands, covering everything from concept creation to delivery of our online assets, photography & video campaigns, our instruction manuals, and packaging.

Our ideal candidate would be someone who...

• 5+ years’ experience in a graphic design role.
• Demonstrable graphic design experience – you’re competent & confident using Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Photoshop.
• A high level of image retouching capability using Photoshop is a must.
• A strong portfolio, demonstrating design concepts in both digital and print formats.
• Experience of managing and mentoring Junior/Midweight Designers.
• A strong eye for detail.
• You’re incredibly organised, a confident multi-tasker.

Previous art direction/styling for photography would be beneficial but is not essential.

Responsibilities

Graphic Design

• Creating digital imagery for owned E-commerce sites.
• Creating Amazon product page listings.
• Producing print-ready artwork for packaging projects in line with brand guidelines.
• Retouching product photography to a high level.
• Brand development.
• Assisting with product photo shoots (art direction and styling).
• Producing engaging content for social media platforms.

People Management

• Coaching and developing your team; you’ll be able to give constructive feedback to enable their continued learning. You’ll steer, tutor, and support more junior members of the team.
• Lead by example, collaborating with others to quickly understand our brands and ways of working, and communicating clearly with both your team and the wider business.
• Effectively manage both your own and your team's tasks to ensure timely delivery.
