Deciding with the rest of the team the best technical solution for the challenges ahead, ensuring best practices are applied to maximise quality of delivery.
Working closely with stakeholders to understand customer needs and deliver them with a lofty quality standard into production.
Demonstrating excellent software knowledge focused on web environment.
Ensuring delivered solutions are developed under DevOps practices and latest technology trends.
Participating actively in software communities inside the bank being a key stone.
Promoting improvements with the usage of different metrics (i.e. DORA metrics) as well as innovative technologies such as Generative Artificial Intelligence.
What you will bring.
Excellent knowledge of Java, Restful API, Agile Methodologies.
Demonstrable experience in Test-Driven Development and Behavioural Driven Development practices integrated within the lifecycle of the software development.
Demonstrable experience in application development in both Frontend and Backend technologies using the latest versions of Angular (with TypeScript), Spring Boot (with Java), and Node among other web technologies.
It would also be nice for you to have.
Certifications - Agile, AWS Developer Associate Qualification or equivalent.
Understands Domain Driven Design.
Experience working under Collections and Recoveries domain.
Knowledge of Atlassian tools (Jira/Confluence) & how to leverage their reporting capabilities.
What else you need to know.
Our preferred location for this role is Milton Keynes, but we'll also consider locating the role in Glasgow, Bradford, Sheffield, and Belfast. This is a 24-month Fixed Term Contract role.
We want our people to thrive at work and home, and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).
