More recently, we've started leveraging our gamification IP to expand our product offering to beyond drivers. With our new app-only solution we can now incentivise and reward all sorts of measurable behaviours for our customers, from physical activity to online order picking. About the role

As a senior developer you will have a hands-on role at all stages of the software lifecycle, giving input on planning and solution design, alongside coding, testing and maintaining web applications and APIs. You will work within a team of agile developers to build and support systems to a high standard of security, scalability and performance. Ideal candidates will have demonstrable experience working at a senior level across the full stack within a web development team, with keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Design, develop, test and maintain complex PHP web applications and APIs to deliver secure, scalable and performant solutions
2. Design and develop front end code with a focus on security, accessibility and delivering a great user experience
3. Mentor more junior developers, engaging in code reviews and encouraging best practice
4. Provide input on key technology, architectural and development decisions

Key skills and experience

1. Extensive experience with web application & API development at a senior level is essential
2. Expert understanding of microservice architecture is essential
3. Expert knowledge of PHP is essential
4. Hands-on experience of PHP frameworks (Symfony preferred) is essential
5. Proficient in JavaScript, including modern MVVM frameworks (React preferred) is essential
6. Proficient in SQL and experience with MySQL is essential
7. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) is essential
8. Familiarity with design-led and mobile-led approaches is essential
9. An understanding of good UI/UX design is beneficial
10. A good working knowledge of Docker is beneficial
11. Experience delivering SaaS solutions is beneficial
12. Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines is beneficial
