About Wahed:

We have a passion to reduce financial inequality and exclusion by building world leading financial products and services aimed at giving access to all. We are a New York headquartered Financial Technology (FinTech) company focused on serving values-based (shariah compliant) digital financial services to retail clients globally, starting with wealth management. We have an impressive global team aligned with this purpose and are looking for trail blazers in their fields that will take our customer delivery to new levels. We can promise you a digital first and truly international culture, as well as a fascinating immersion into the world of FinTech and Islamic finance.

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our Core development team. As a team member, you will play a role in building, maintaining, designing, and implementing new and current features on both the iOS and Android platforms. Building product and innovative features is a highly collaborative effort, and as such, a strong team player with a commitment to perfection is required. We are looking for candidates that are self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies, work well both within a team and on their own, and have an attention to detail.

Job Description:

  1. Development of the frontend architecture including creating and maintaining core mobile components.
  2. Work with other senior engineers to drive and deliver on our product roadmap, turning rough specs into features.
  3. Provide leadership and mentorship to other frontend mobile engineers on the team.
  4. Find elegant solutions to usability problems. Build pixel-perfect, buttery smooth UIs across all our frontend platforms.
  5. Engineer new features that can work seamlessly across all of maintained web and mobile applications.
  6. Leverage APIs for integrations with other platforms.

Job Specification:

  1. At least 5 years of commercial experience with JavaScript and TypeScript and its nuances, including ES6+ syntax, React, React Native and GraphQL.
  2. Must have mobile development experience.
  3. Product minded: committed to building the best user experience.
  4. Understand the trade-offs in employing different engineering solutions to a problem, valuing pragmatism over idealism.
  5. Eager and open to learning.

  8. Have an app hosted publicly in the Google or Apple app store(s).
