About You
In this newly created role, the Senior Food Technologist will support the Technical Manager to uphold Brusco Food Group’s commitment to food ingredient quality and authenticity. You will provide specialist insights and guidance on technical and quality matters and support in maintaining our AA BRCGS grade so our customers can buy our products with confidence.
To be successful in this role, you must have demonstrable skills and experience in food technology including hands-on experience in managing supplier approvals. You will be highly organised with effective written and verbal communication skills and a high level of attention to detail. You will demonstrate an unwavering commitment to quality, safety and service when collaborating with colleagues and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in supplier approvals, monitoring and conducting annual performance reviews and external audits.
- Support the Technical Manager in providing specialist expertise and guidance to support the food safety culture in the Technical team and broader Brusco business.
- Monitor and report on emerging trends, assisting in the development of necessary policies.
- Review and update the Quality Management System (QMS) providing training to the wider business.
- Support internal audits, identifying non-conformances, and collaborating on actionable solutions.
- Conduct risk assessments for new suppliers and products, supporting annual product traceability, withdrawal, and recall testing.
- Manage customer complaints efficiently and ensure Certificates of Authenticity and Compliance are provided within the agreed timeframes.
- Support the Technical Manager with coaching and developing the Food Technologists.
- Deputise in the absence of the Technical Manager.
Skills and Experience
- At least 3 years relevant experience, ideally in a similar role.
- Demonstrable Technical expertise supported by a relevant qualification such as a degree in food science and/or HACCP L3 qualification.
- Supplier approval knowledge and experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, including microbiology and allergens.
- Internal auditing experience would be preferable.
- Strong customer focus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Literate and numerate.
- Well-organised with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work at pace and meet multiple deadlines.
- Proactive, forward-thinking and confident about using initiative.

Salary: Up to £37,400 gross per annum (depending on skills and experience).
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday.
Location: On site at Head Office based in Offenham near Evesham, with up to 2 days working from home per week.
