Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Financial Engineer/Quant Developer with expertise in equity products (indices, funds, ETFs) to join our Equity Index Management team. This role will focus on understanding in depth the nature and technical needs of the equity business, designing new development frameworks (while utilizing aspects of existing tools) to meet the needs of the respective asset class. This should be done while ensuring alignment with frameworks for fixed income and multi-asset and cross-asset class collaboration.

As a key member of the team, you will contribute to shaping scalable, modular solutions that drive innovation in equity index development. Additionally, you will leverage your engineering skills to improve workflows, adopt modern technologies, and collaborate effectively with IT and business stakeholders.

Your Tasks

  1. Equity Framework Development and Improvement
    • Leverage your knowledge of indices, funds, and ETFs to design solutions tailored to equity product requirements.
    • Design and develop frameworks to support the equity asset class, ensuring scalability and modularity, including leveraging existing tools and frameworks the company offers.
    • Implement and optimize tools, libraries, and pipelines to streamline development processes (e.g., Python libraries, CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes, GCP).
    • Advocate for and integrate best practices in coding standards, testing, and software architecture.
  2. Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with the equity teams to understand specific requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
    • Foster alignment across asset classes by generalizing frameworks and promoting knowledge sharing.
    • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to build trust and support for new solutions.
    • Introduce new ideas, tools, and methodologies to enhance frameworks and workflows for equity products.
    • Maintain a forward-thinking approach to ensure frameworks are adaptable to evolving business needs.

Your Profile

  • Strong background in financial engineering with deep understanding of design patterns, software architecture, and abstraction techniques.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with frameworks, libraries, and testing methodologies.
  • Experience with modern development tools such as GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (preferably GCP).
  • Equity Product Knowledge: Familiarity with indices, funds, ETFs, and other equity-related financial products.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Effective communication skills capable of bridging technical and business discussions. Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration across teams and build alignment.
  • Problem-Solving and Vision: A proactive mindset to drive innovation and identify opportunities for improvement. Ability to generalize solutions across frameworks and asset classes.
