About Our Client

My client is currently recruiting for a Senior Finance Officer based in Tadworth.

Job Description

  1. Oversee and manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  2. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  3. Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
  4. Manage the preparation and submission of VAT returns, tax filings, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
  5. Supervise and mentor junior finance staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
  6. Assist in the preparation and management of the annual budget and forecasts.
  7. Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger and manage reconciliations of key accounts.
  8. Support the internal and external audit processes by providing relevant financial data and reports.
  9. Prepare detailed financial analysis, reports, and recommendations for senior management and key stakeholders.
  10. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and ensure compliance.
  11. Liaise with other departments to support financial planning and decision-making.
  12. Contribute to the development and improvement of financial systems and processes.

The Successful Applicant

  1. May be studying towards an Accountancy qualification.
  2. Proven experience (5+ years) in a finance role, with at least 2-3 years in a senior or supervisory position.
  3. Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory compliance.
  4. Experience with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  5. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  7. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  9. A proactive approach to improving processes and driving efficiency within the finance function.
