Job description

The Senior Group Finance Manager will play a critical role in supporting the Group Financial Controller maintain and review our financial control environment through the development, implementation and oversight of consistent processes and systems.

The finance team provides monthly financial reporting and analysis to a global, fast-paced professional services business. The London team co-ordinates and consolidates the global accounting setup and offers operational and technical support to our international offices on a regular basis. We also provide a range of financial analysis, client reporting and much more to our key internal stakeholders both in London and around the globe.

Global finance is led by the CFO and Vice-Chairman of Brunswick; the Group Accounting and Reporting function is led by the Group Financial Controller and the Head of Group Finance; this role will work most closely with and report to both and will have important interaction with finance colleagues across the globe.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Business Partnering
  • Innovation and development of processes and procedures to drive efficiencies and productivity
  • Business partnering with key budget holders in collaboration with the Group FP&A Manager and Regional Heads of Finance
  • Full monthly review of country reporting packs to provide oversight of local financial reporting and summarise findings for discussion with Senior Finance Leadership
  • Monthly calls with Country Finance Managers to review and discuss findings from country reporting packs
Control and Oversight
  • Review and approval of bank payments across the Group
  • Preparation of cashflow forecasts
  • Global cash co-ordination working with international teams
  • Regular intra group financing and intercompany settlement
  • Support the annual insurance renewal process
  • Maintain oversight of property lease commitments
  • Annual review of hourly rates
Internal Control Procedures and Review
  • Responsibility for the co-ordination and leadership of an annual Group-wide review of internal control procedures and compliance in the component entities of the Group
  • Working with finance teams in component entities to ensure the Group’s financial control procedures are understood and implemented
  • Understanding reasons for local financial control procedures deviating from the Group policies and document variances to the Group Finance Team for review and approval
  • Undertaking periodical review of financial processes in component entities to confirm compliance and report non-compliance to the Group Finance Team
  • Preparation of Trust Accounts
  • Preparation of Trust Tax Returns and liaison with HMRC
  • Liaison with external Accountants for review
  • Oversight and review of work performed by the Group Accountant which includes: Maintaining and updating the annual Deferred Remuneration Award schedules, Bi-Annual preparation of beneficiary letters (at Award and at Maturity), Annual preparation of Deferred Remuneration Scheme Trust Accounts, Annual preparation of Deferred Remuneration Scheme Trust Tax Returns
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
  • Suitable accounting qualification, 3 or more years post qualified
  • Motivated self-starter with analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • Highly professional, with a strong client-service attitude and ability to form good professional relationships
  • Strong organisation skills with an excellent eye for detail
  • Ability to think objectively
  • Good time-keeping and able to plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines
