Why join us?

At Bakkavor, we're continuously evolving, innovating, and expanding, and we want our people to do the same. As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you'll be empowered to drive strategic decisions, influence change, and shape the financial landscape of our business. We believe in fostering ambition, providing the support you need to excel, and creating opportunities for growth. You'll have the chance to realize your potential, own your impact, and build a successful future with us, contributing to Bakkavor's ongoing success.

What we do.

We're the market leader in the UK fresh prepared food industry – supplying meals, salads, desserts, pizza and bread to leading grocery retailers including Tesco, M&S, Sainsbury's and Waitrose. Bakkavor Devizes in Wiltshire specializes in making delicious chilled desserts such as tarts, yum yums, doughnuts, crumbles, pies and pastries. The site employs over 600 people and is close to Swindon.

About the role.

Working within the dynamic operational environment at the Devizes site, you will lead a small team in supporting and driving the continuous improvement agenda for the business. As a true business partner to the Operations Managers, Operational Excellence managers and the wider Operational teams you will influence decision-making that drives factory efficiency and value-added activity that enhances our operating model.

Accountabilities
  1. Performance Improvement: Collaborating with the Operations and Operational Excellence teams to identify opportunities for improvement. Utilizing data from the site finance team and "Redzone" to generate robust financial analysis, support decision-making, and drive an active PIP agenda with clear tracking and accountability for delivery.
  2. SKU Complexity Review: Championing the review of SKU complexity within operational environments, providing balanced analysis and recommendations to streamline and simplify the operational model and plan.
  3. Capital Investment: Conducting full financial appraisals of capital investment opportunities, determining success factors, and implementing a formal system to assess the relative success or failure post-project.
  4. Costings: Ensuring the accuracy and relevance of all costing information within the Point 74 (Recipe Professor) system. Maintaining standard costs at levels that minimize variances as close to GBP0 as possible throughout the year.
  5. NPD Activity: Assessing NPD activity that deviates from the standard for potential opportunities and risks, ensuring clear documentation and communication to key stakeholders.
  6. Rolling Forecast / Standards Reset: Working with the operational leadership team to develop rolling forecasts for factory performance variables across all four manufacturing units. These forecasts will be used for the weekly tracker and quarterly RF process.
  7. Control Environment: Applying operational control systems like Redzone, monitoring variances and stock, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending modifications as needed.
  8. Representation in Operational Meetings: Representing Finance in operational and business control meetings, such as the SDM (Site Development Meeting) and S&OP.
  9. Business Processes & Operating Systems: Collaborating with the wider Finance team to review financial systems and processes, ensuring efficient operation and maintaining data integrity.
  10. Group Requirements: Liaising with group functions and external parties, reviewing reporting and control systems, and suggesting modifications to ensure compliance with group standards.
About you

Ideally you will have previous experience of a similar role within a fast-paced food manufacturing or FMCG environment. You'll have experience of factory performance, labour efficiencies, material variance, standard costings, experience working with large data-sets, P&L and interpreting data into insights.

You will be qualified or working towards relevant qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA or equivalent and possess the ability to manage large volumes of data into usable formats.

Excellent communication, analytical, customer service and Excel skills will be key.

What you'll receive.

As an equal opportunity employer, we're committed to providing a safe and rewarding environment for you to thrive in. This is why we work hard to deliver benefits, rewards and wellbeing offerings that are important to you.

You'll enjoy:
  1. Bonus (up to 20% of annual salary – company performance dependant)

  3. Car Allowance GBP8,400
  4. A stakeholder pension scheme
  5. Personal accident insurance
