Senior Facilities Services Technician

£40,000 DOE

London (EC2V)

An award-winning law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Services Technician to join their professional and dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Reporting to the Facilities Services Supervisor, the Senior Facilities Technician will support the daily operations of the Facilities department, ensuring smooth building maintenance, office moves, cleaning, and security tasks. The role requires working closely with staff and contractors to provide exceptional service.

Facilities Management:

  1. Monitor and respond to the Facilities Helpdesk, addressing issues promptly and professionally.
  2. Conduct regular building inspections as part of the PPM schedule, ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of the office fabric.
  3. Oversee building maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and liaising with landlords and appointed contractors.
  4. Supervise and direct contractors, ensuring adherence to landlord and firm guidelines, with full compliance to Health & Safety regulations, including RAMS submissions.
  5. Assist with internal office moves, managing accommodation arrangements for new hires, seat transfers, and leavers.
  6. Handle procurement of materials and labor, including obtaining quotes and placing orders.
  7. Conduct toolbox talks for Facilities staff and contractors.
  8. Manage storage inventory for both on-site and off-site facilities, overseeing collections and orders.

Contractor Coordination:

  1. Liaise with cleaning, security, and maintenance contractors, ensuring timely and professional service delivery.
  2. Coordinate internal and external contractor works, collaborating with the Facilities Supervisor and M&E Manager on permits, security access, and scheduling.

Security Management:

  1. Work with building security to coordinate access for contractors working during and outside office hours.

Health & Safety Compliance:

  1. Conduct biweekly/weekly inspections of first aid kits and defibrillators to ensure all supplies and equipment are up to standard.
  2. Maintain and update the Health & Safety folder, including COSHH assessments, risk assessments, method statements, and scheduled checks.
  3. Deliver H&S inductions for contractors and new Facilities team members.

The Ideal Candidate:

  1. Essential Fabric experience and knowledge
  2. Proven experience in a Facilities Technician role within a corporate or legal environment.
  3. Strong knowledge of building maintenance, contractor coordination, and Health & Safety regulations.
  4. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  5. Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
