Job description

SciPro is supporting an innovative biopharmaceutical company committed to developing transformative medicines in oncology, central nervous system (CNS), autoimmunity, and infectious diseases. Their mission is to bring cutting-edge therapies to patients by advancing scientific research and forging strategic partnerships.

They are seeking a Senior - Executive Director of Business Development to drive the growth strategy, identify high-value opportunities, and lead key collaborations that shape the future of medicine.

In this role, you will develop strategic leadership skills by shaping business strategies in a dynamic global biopharmaceutical environment. You will lead high-impact deals, driving licensing, acquisitions, and partnerships that fuel company growth. Working with international partners, you will gain global exposure, navigating cross-border negotiations and market expansion. You will deepen your knowledge of innovative drug development, particularly in Oncology, CNS, and Autoimmune diseases.

You will collaborate with senior leaders, investors, and external stakeholders on strategic initiatives, while honing alliance management expertise to ensure long-term partnership success and business value.

Key Responsibilities of the position:
  • Develop and execute the company’s business development strategy, focusing on Oncology, CNS, and Autoimmune Diseases
  • Identify and evaluate in-licensing, out-licensing, acquisition, and investment opportunities aligned with strategic objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with biotech and pharmaceutical partners, investors, and key stakeholders
  • Drive deal negotiations, structure agreements, and support transaction execution to maximise business value
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscapes, and licensing transactions to inform strategic decision-making
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including R&D, commercial, legal, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of partnerships
  • Oversee alliance management activities to optimise the success of collaborations
Ideal Candidate will have:
  • PhD and/or MD in biological sciences, life sciences, or a related field
  • Six or more years of experience in business development within the biotech or pharmaceutical company
  • Strong scientific or clinical expertise in Oncology, CNS, or Autoimmune therapeutic areas, with deep knowledge of the drug development and commercialisation process
  • Proven ability to identify high-value business opportunities and execute strategic deals
  • Strong experience negotiating and structuring complex licensing agreements and alliances
  • Experience working in global markets, navigating cross-cultural partnerships, and leading executive-level collaborations
  • Highly desirable: Experience in additional therapeutic areas and alliance management
