The team
The Business Development & Marketing department is collectively responsible for building brand equity and supporting the growth of the firm. Marketing leads activity that builds reputation and recognition in the market whilst business development is focused on the retention and growth of clients alongside targeting new clients.
Client insight, data and research is applied and deployed across the team to inform decision making and activities in line with business plans at sector at departmental level.
Close working of all members of the team helps to ensure that the Business Development & Marketing department has a collective focus on the client agenda alongside the firm’s vision to be the UK’s leading infrastructure firm.
The opportunity
An exciting opportunity for an Senior Events Executive to join our team to provide organisation and implementation of virtual and in-person events across the firm, including corporate hospitality. The Senior Events Executive will work closely with the Event and Client Experience Manager Marketing, as well as the wider Marketing, Business Development and Client Relationship teams to ensure our events calendar is varied and executed within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Project managing virtual and in-person events from conception through to completion, working alongside the Business Development team and relevant legal departments, ensuring that they are delivered on time and budget.
- Maintaining and enhancing the events process for the firm to achieve business objectives.
- Working closely with the Facilities team to ensure the successful, cost-effective and high-quality delivery of in-person events held at the firm’s offices.
- Identifying an appropriate event format, securing dates and arranging external venue visits where necessary.
- Negotiating rates and liaising with caterers, venue staff and other providers as appropriate.
- Overseeing event logistics on-site at each office.
- Monitoring event budgets and spend alongside the Event and Client Experience Manager and BD&M Director.
- Processing and documenting event invoices in a timely manner with the support of the BD and Marketing Assistants.
- Working with the CRM team to create event mailing lists. Compiling RSVPs, tracking and circulating responses through the firm's CRM system, InterAction.
- Creating and sending event email campaigns using the firm's email marketing software, Vuture.
- Working with the BD and Marketing Assistants to promote events on the firm's website, social media channels, intranet and internal newsletters.
- Printing of all event collateral including name badges and signage, liaising with the Graphic Designer when required to produce materials.
- Preparing post-event reports, measuring event success and co-ordinating attendee follow-up plans with Business Development to show ROI.
- Drive consistencies in regional event execution across London, Cambridge, Reading and Southampton.
- Work collaboratively with the Event and Client Experience Manager and wider firm to share events best practice.

The hours of work for this opportunity are 09.30-17.30 based in London, but it is essential to be committed, flexible and prepared to work beyond the normal office hours when necessary.
Time outside of standard hours will be required for events support and overtime / time off in lieu will be available.
