Job Description:
Your new role
Here at Hitachi Rail, we have a unique and exciting opportunity for a Senior EUC Infrastructure Engineer, working with the EUC Manager to design and implement new systems, evaluate existing performance and help plan for future requirements. The position is based Stoke Gifford, Bristol (full time).
Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:
- Provide 2/3rd line technical support for company users on back office systems and desktops.
- Administration of servers and core equipment including the management of users accounts, end-user equipment, servers and/or network infrastructure.
- Mentor and support the up-skilling of the existing EUC team in the Infrastructure environment.
- Work with other colleagues, group company services and third-party providers to ensure business services are delivered in a timely and reliable manner.
- Utilise technical skills and experience to resolve new or unforeseen problems.
- Project manage proposed changes and new implementations.
- Travel to other company sites to assist in project implementations or problem resolution as required. New hardware installations or upgrades.
- To be aware of, and actively promote and implement Hitachi's ethos, culture and values.
About you
- Strong Interpersonal skills, ability to communicate to business managers
- Robust experience in providing 3rd line support for corporate Infrastructure systems in a multi-site organisation (> 500 persons)
- Strong experience in supporting Microsoft software and server systems and upgrades
- Good understanding of hardware virtualisation, particularly VMWare.
- Familiarity with Cisco family of network products, including IOS configuration
- Strong Knowledge of IP networking, including routing and security
- Strong experience of Cisco WIFI technologies
Qualifications
- LP1C, MCSA or similar level certification
- Desirable - CCNA certified
Desirable Requirements
- Familiarity with Cisco family of network products. Using Putty for switch Admin.
- Experience with scripting and IT automation.
- Knowledge of Mobile Device Management solutions
- Experience in McAfee, SCCM, Ivanti
- Experience with latest versions of Citrix XenApp
