Job Description

Description

We are easyJet – a FTSE-100 listed, £multi-billion low-cost airline that serves tens of millions of customers every single year. If you’re reading this, you have probably already been an easyJet customer, and you’ll know that there is no more iconic (or Orange!) travel brand in Europe.

We fly more than 1,000 routes, connecting 35 countries across Europe, and employ more than 18,000 colleagues. We’re on a mission to make low-cost travel easy – and whatever your role here, you’ll connect millions of people to what they love using Europe’s best airline network, great value fares, and friendly service.

It takes a real team effort to run an operation as big and logistically complex as ours – and regardless of where you join us, no one day will ever be the same. One thing that does stay the same though is our people. They are energised, positive, inclusive, united by purpose, ready to meet problems head-on, and they have your back. We’re here to win together. We call that our ‘Orange Spirit’. It’s what makes our teams fun to be a part of and what brings us together.

Your Mission:

As the Senior Establishment Planning Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our operational strategy—ensuring we always have the right people, in the right place, at the right time. Reporting to the Head of Operational Planning, you’ll lead a team of two Establishment Planning Managers and a group of subject matter experts, driving crew resourcing decisions that balance operational resilience with cost efficiency.

You’ll own easyJet’s annual establishment planning and champion continuous improvement of tools, methodology, and processes. Your role is all about ensuring alignment across key stakeholders—including Pilot and Cabin Crew Management, Crew Training, Recruitment, Industrial Relations, and Finance—while proactively tackling emerging challenges to keep our plans on track.

Requirements of the Role

What Your Day Will Look Like:

  1. Lead & Develop – Manage the Establishment Planning team, supporting their growth and engagement.
  2. Strategic Workforce Planning – Oversee five year planning for crew establishment, ensuring training capacity meets demand.
  3. Stakeholder Collaboration – Work closely with senior leaders to ensure planning assumptions align with business goals.
  4. Operational Efficiency – Develop solutions that maximise crew productivity while delivering easyJet’s five-year commercial plan.
  5. Governance & Process Improvement – Ensure robust validation of planning assumptions and drive continuous enhancements.
  6. Data-Driven Decision Making – Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and evolve forecasts based on changing assumptions.
  7. Technology & Tooling – Own and enhance data modelling tools to improve forecasting accuracy.
  8. Cross-Functional Alignment – Partner with Finance, HR, and Industrial Relations to optimise crew modelling and contracting.
  9. Agility & Resilience – Adapt plans to evolving business needs while ensuring delivery remains robust.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  1. A degree in mathematics, analytics, or a related field.
  2. Leadership experience in a large, complex organisation, with the ability to motivate and inspire a high-performing team.
  3. Proven ability to balance strategic, operational, and commercial priorities.
  4. Advanced skills in MS Excel and experience working with databases (e.g., MS SQL) for data extraction and modelling.
  5. Strong analytical mindset with a track record of financial budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement.
  6. Experience working in a highly numerical, problem-solving environment, ideally within crew planning, scheduling, or workforce management.
  7. Understanding of flight time limitations and crew resourcing dynamics.
  8. Excellent communication skills—able to present complex data in a clear and engaging way to senior stakeholders.
  9. A resilient, adaptable approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  10. A strategic mindset—always looking for ways to improve long-term efficiency and effectiveness.

What you’ll get in return:

  1. Competitive base salary
  2. Up to 30% bonus
  3. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  4. BAYE, SAYE & Performance share schemes
  5. Flexible benefits package
  6. Excellent staff travel benefits
