Overview

As Senior Enterprise Architect, you will develop and maintain the Enterprise Architecture for the MUFG Corporate Markets global business unit. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Enterprise Architect to be part of the growth and transformation of this department, playing a key role in plans for the future.

You will be based from our Leeds City Centre office on a hybrid working approach. Liaison with colleagues in our Mumbai and Australia locations will need to take place, involving regular out of standard UK working hours calls and occasional international travel.

By engaging with business representatives, you will establish and maintain the architectural building blocks that will support and enable business objectives. These elements include Reference Models, Artefact Repository, Patterns, Frameworks, Tools, Methodology, and Governance frameworks.

This role will involve consulting and the provision of recommendations to the MUFG Corporate Markets business unit through the formulation of a technology strategy, solution option analysis, and cost/benefit analysis.

You will participate in and provide governance on major programs and projects to ensure that solutions align with the broader company-wide Enterprise Architecture and that expected business and IT benefits are realized. You will also support internal teams in the development of their MUFG Corporate Markets solutions and services.

What you need:

  • Circa 15+ years of IT experience, 10+ years in solution design, and 5+ years in senior architect roles.
  • Exposure to both Infrastructure and Application estate.
  • Highly professional and self-motivated individual with the ability and desire to work with experienced IT professionals in all disciplines in a dynamic, evolving environment.
  • Solid experience implementing medium to large-scale distributed applications and application ecosystems.
  • Experience in various integration concepts, patterns, and technologies.
  • Solid working knowledge across infrastructure domains (network, compute, and storage).
  • Personal qualities: innovative, resourceful, collaborative, energetic, and self-confident.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to document and present models, strategies, standards, and concepts to both business and IT audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn business processes and operations and apply technical solutions.

Day to Day you will:

Strategic Focus

  • Provide strategic IT architecture vision, strategy, and technology leadership for large programs and business transformation initiatives for MUFG Corporate Markets business.
  • Provide integrated vision, roadmap, and steer to build standard solutions and technology change plans considering overarching scope and dependencies.

Operational Management

  • Establish and maintain Architecture artefacts for the global MUFG Corporate Markets business unit.
  • Review new and existing IT projects to ensure compliance and integration with MUFG Pension and Market Services wide Enterprise Architecture.
  • Identify and investigate opportunities to utilize and integrate emerging technologies to provide cost-effective, flexible solutions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of business plans and possible impacts to the business unit architecture. Engage regularly with business stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • Develop and maintain an Architecture aligned to the IT Strategy. Determine the roadmap required to support the implementation of the Architecture.
  • Govern across and ensure that the scope and design of strategic projects are aligned with the target Architecture. Ensure that tactical initiatives' risks and deviations from strategic plans are understood and communicated.
  • Provide advanced technical consulting in multi-platform application environments.
  • Perform advanced assignments as required, particularly in areas of difficulty, complexity, or critical need.
  • Participate in and facilitate functional and technical designs of systems to ensure sound decisions are made in alignment with current and future business and IT strategies and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical architectures to meet requirements and strategies.

People Leadership

  • Stakeholder management and leadership to drive global business and technology change.
  • Supervise & mentor other architects into MUFG Pension & Market Services standards and best practices in the domain of IT architecture and strategy.
  • Key Member of the global technology leadership team and point of contact for Exec and Senior Stakeholder communications.
