Senior Engineering Geologist

The Vacancy

Ian Farmer Associates are looking for a Senior Engineering Geologist to join their team in Glasgow. This is a full time, permanent position.

Ian Farmer Associates, a member of RSK Group Ltd, is a geotechnical and geo-environmental site investigation company with offices covering the majority of the United Kingdom. It is further supported by a fully accredited UKAS laboratory and together with the Geosciences division of RSK, the company makes RSK Group one of the UK's largest site investigation service providers.

Due to continued growth and some exciting new projects, Ian Farmer Associates are growing and need an experienced Senior Engineering Geologist to help with an exciting and varied new project workload in a growing office. Details of the position are below;

Responsibilities include:

1. Supervision of ground investigation crews, including cable percussion, rotary, and window sampling crews
2. Trial pitting
3. Logging of soil and rock to BS5930 / Eurocode 7
4. Groundwater and gas monitoring
5. Production of Phase 1 Desk Studies
6. Assistance in the preparation of Factual and Interpretive Reports
7. Good Project Management skills

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Experience within the industry
2. A geology / earth sciences degree, or a master's degree in engineering geology or geotechnical engineering
3. A full UK driving license
4. Willing to travel and work away from home
5. Be within a reasonable travelling distance of your office base, or be prepared to re-locate
6. CSCS Card & First Aid Training
7. SSSTS
