Location: New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton

Hours: 40hrs per week. On-Call/Out of hours requirements occasionally

Our client is a leading provider of services into the NHS and now requires a Senior Electrical Engineer at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton. It is essential you have previous facilities maintenance experience - including Electrical, Ventilation, BMS, etc.

Your role as a Facilities Maintenance Technician:

  • Perform PPM Tasks issued via Help desk
  • Ensure PM tasks are completed in line with our performance obligations
  • Plan PPM Tasks to ensure a practical and efficient approach, minimising downtime
  • Escort contractors as and when required, which could be outside of core hours
  • Inspect sub-contractor work and ensure any corrective actions are appropriately followed up
  • Complete job sheets accurately and in a timely manner, recording any results or comments
  • Perform allocated reactive tasks reported by the customer to the helpdesk or assigned by the FM lead, with priority dictated by service level agreement
  • Make arrangements for subcontractors to attend if and when required
  • Participate in the On-Call Rota
  • Proactively maintain and log tasks via the CAFM system
  • Responsible for the upkeep of the facility
  • Maintain appropriate levels of stock/spare parts

The person:

  • Electrical competence - City & Guilds Level 3 in electrical engineering or equivalent, 18th Edition
  • An in-depth knowledge of FM management techniques, experience of CAFM systems, H&S, CDM, and familiarity with performance obligations driven by PFI and/or SLA contracts
  • Proven FM aptitude and capability
  • Demonstrable analytical skills with sound problem-solving ability
  • Good organisation skills and self-motivated
  • Must have a can-do approach and be able to work closely with others
  • Good communication skills to all levels of staff (e.g., management, subcontractors, client staff, patients, etc.)
  • Attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Facilities maintenance experience - including Electrical, Ventilation, BMS, etc.
  • Practical knowledge of Health and Safety, including CDM, safe systems of work, COSHH, risk assessments, lone working, etc.
