Job description

Our client is looking to recruit a Senior Electrical Engineer for a 12 Month Contract.

Senior Electrical Engineer

12 Month Contract

Inside IR35

Remote working with occasional visits to the Glasgow area.

SC Clearance needs to be obtained.

Sole British National.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical excellence in the specification, production and assessment of design packages for infrastructure.
2. Specification of reliability and operational constraints for infrastructure.
3. Assessment of work control procedures for maintenance of infrastructure.
4. Assessment of infrastructure design, material state, qualification and ageing mechanisms to permit the continued operation of facilities and utilities.
5. Discharge and display a robust safety and security culture.
6. Ensure outputs of safety related contracts meet the contract requirements and appropriate safety requirements by acting as an intelligent customer.

Essential Qualifications:

1. Broad experience in electrical engineering, preferably with experience of some of the following electrical systems: HV/MV distribution, LV distribution, protection systems, C&I systems, electrical machines including synchronous motor, frequency changers, diesel alternators.
2. Experience of working within the nuclear industry or any other high hazard industry, although this is not considered essential.
3. Ability to provide practical, creative and cost-effective solutions for design changes/modifications of plant and supporting infrastructure.
4. A good understanding of British and international design standards.
5. A track record of making intelligent evidence-based decisions using various sources of data.
6. Good skills in verbal and written communication.
7. The ability to effectively manage and prioritise your own workload.

Minimum Requirements:

1. HNC or equivalent qualifications and experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
2. Detailed knowledge of the Design Intent for Electrical Infrastructure in the nuclear industry or similar industry.

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent experience and standing.
2. Degree or equivalent qualifications and experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
