Senior Electrical Engineer

The successful Senior Electrical Engineer is required to take technical responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of electrical design tasks, consisting of, but not limited to:

1. Drawings
2. Parts specifications
3. Risk assessments
4. Installation procedures
5. Calculations

Working with all linked disciplines to ensure a solution is delivered that meets all relevant legal and safety standards as well as quality expectations within the committed timescales. This role is part of a wider team of electrical engineers but is required to work in conjunction with the assigned Project Engineer, Structural Engineer, and Design Engineer amongst others.

This role also requires the successful applicant to undertake vehicle surveys as well as on-site installation support. Therefore, travel is an essential part of the role, and this can be anywhere within the UK and potentially further afield.

The engineer will also undertake related activities to ensure that the requirements of the customer and the company are always upheld. This will include tasks such as:

1. Client design reviews
2. Internal design reviews
3. Standards compliance reviews

To be successful in this role of Senior Electrical Engineer, we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:

1. Schematic and wiring diagram drawing production, ideally in Solid Edge software.
2. A proven track record of leading small teams in the production of on train electrical design solutions from concept to installation.
3. You hold a UK spec accredited degree in electronic and electrical engineering (or similar) and in possession of or working towards chartership status with a recognised industry body.
4. Practical experience in field installation and fault finding.
5. IT literate with sound knowledge of Windows (10 or 11) and CAD systems ideally Solid Edge.
6. Ability to lead teams and supervise fitments.
