Role Overview

We are currently recruiting a Senior Electrical Consultant Engineer to join a client-focused team within our West & Wales Built Asset Consultancy service. You'll work across various sectors including public, environmental, commercial, and education.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Electrical Consultant Engineer with experience in surveying building infrastructure, independent design from RIBA Stage 0-4, and providing technical advice to clients throughout construction.

The successful candidate will also help support and grow the M&E service in the region, aligned with our business strategy.

Role Responsibilities

1. Undertake project feasibility studies
2. Detailed technical design of electrical services
3. Produce technical drawings and full electrical tender packages
4. Monitor electrical works on site and report on conformity and quality
5. Undertake electrical condition, pre-acquisition, dilapidation, and PPM surveys
6. Perform technical advisor roles and assist in contractor design development
7. Carry out duties efficiently and in accordance with procedures
8. Comply with commercial, procurement, contractual, environmental, and safety standards
9. Liaise closely with internal project teams and develop commercial strategies

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who delivers excellent customer service and demonstrates a proactive approach to their role.

Key attributes include:

• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Organised, diligent, commercially aware
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the Southwest and South Wales
• Commitment to supporting the regional M&E service

Qualifications

• BSc in Electrical Engineering (minimum)
• Recognised M&E qualification
• Chartered or working toward MCIBSE (or equivalent)

Experience

• Proven experience in a similar role or site engineering
• High-level independent design experience from RIBA Stages 0-4
• Asset surveying and technical due diligence
• Familiarity with CAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office; REVIT experience beneficial
