Experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join award–winning solar energy specialists in Solar Power, Battery Storage and EV Solutions.

Our client designs, installs and maintains world–class solar systems for corporations and public sector institutions. Their track record of tailoring projects for large–scale commercial clients relies on their creativity, expertise in engineering, and an industry-leading attitude to health & safety. Other products include solar car ports offering a dynamic solution, transforming car parking facilities and visibly meeting sustainability targets.

This role offers a hybrid working pattern, 2 days on–site/3 days working from home.

Senior Electrical Design Engineer Role:

• Manage and guide design engineers to complete electrical designs within deadlines.
• Ensure designs meet compliance, safety standards, and engineering judgment.
• Complete designer risk assessments and review submissions.
• Instruct and/or perform Solar PV design, including site assessments, system design, and G99 applications.
• Prepare technical documentation, cost estimates for tender responses, and support sales teams.
• Complete electrical system designs, cable protection calculations, and CAD software usage.
• Liaise with clients to ensure designs meet requirements and provide technical support.
• Conduct surveys and site visits to ensure accurate data for designs.

Senior Electrical Design Engineer Requirements:

This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills.

Essential:

• Strong understanding of electrical design principles.
• Ability to lead a team, communicate technical concepts, and provide constructive feedback.
• Proficient in CAD.
• Minimum – 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (2382–22).
• Minimum – Electrical Design & Verification (QCF Level 4/2396).

Desirable:

• Solar Training Courses, CPDs.
• Electrical Installations (QCF Level 3/2357/2365).
• Electrical Testing & Inspection (QCF Level 3/2391).
• Experience in Commercial–Scale Design.
• Solar PV systems, G99 regulations.
