Senior Ecotoxicology Regulatory Scientist - Chemicals

Location: Belgium / UK - Flexible working available in both countries

Role: Permanent

Our client is currently recruiting for a Senior Ecotoxicology Regulatory Scientist to lead and manage a variety of projects supporting ecotoxicology studies, risk and data assessments for chemical compliance purposes.

The successful candidate will be the point of contact to understand a range of complex chemical compounds and subsequently assist in devising strategies for routes to achieve chemical compliance.

Duties relating to this role will include:

1. Liaising with external partners and laboratories performing ecotoxicology and environmental fate studies relating to chemicals / UVCBs and understanding chemical data produced to support regulatory requirements.
2. Designing and utilising QSAR models for assessment purposes.
3. Conducting environmental hazard / risk and PBT assessments.
4. Acting as an expert in ecotoxicology, fully understanding the test guidelines / parameters for data generation for international regulatory schemes e.g. OECD.
5. Monitoring multiple experimental studies.
6. Providing ongoing support for the preparation of strategies to achieve chemical compliance, ultimately leading to the delivery of compliant dossiers for regulatory purposes.
7. Liaising with key internal stakeholders, together with external partners and regulatory bodies.
8. Training / mentoring other Ecotoxicologists.

Applications are invited from candidates with an MSc, PhD in Chemistry (or related subject), with previous in-depth experience of conducting / managing environmental ecotoxicology / chemical studies, together with mastery of OECD guidelines and EU / REACH chemical regulations.
