The opportunity
Our client is currently seeking an experienced Senior Engineer EC&I to join their expanding engineering team based in Warrington. This role will involve working across all functions of engineering delivery, including front-end engineering design, estimating, project initiation, detailed design, construction support, technical guidance, and commissioning activities. You will ensure that all project deliverables are completed in a safe, cost-effective, and timely manner while meeting relevant standards, directives, regulations, and quality targets.

The role
As a Senior EC&I Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all project deliverables are completed in a safe, cost-effective, and timely manner while meeting relevant standards, directives, regulations, and quality targets. This role is Contract (12 months+) or Permanent and has been deemed inside IR35. Warrington, hybrid. Salary: Up to £70- £75K per Anum Dependent on experience or Contract Rate £60- £65/hr Umbrella Dependent on experience.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:

1. Lead engineering works, ensuring milestones, budgets, and quality targets are met.
2. Manage engineering scope changes and oversee the change control process.
3. Represent the company's interests in client interactions, maintaining strong client relationships.
4. Work effectively within an engineering team, motivating and guiding Engineers and Designers.
5. Carry out engineering and design activities within a multi-discipline environment.
6. Make independent technical decisions and provide expert support across all engineering disciplines.
7. Supervise Engineers and Designers within your discipline or on specific projects.
8. Act as the Senior EC&I Engineer for single or multi-discipline projects.
9. Drive quality in engineering designs, including the checking and approval of deliverables.
10. Ensure compliance with all safety and design regulations, including design reviews, RAMS, and safety studies.
11. Manage cost controls, scope changes, and progress reporting for allocated projects.
12. TUV certification and expertise in electrical functional safety (BS EN 61508, BS EN 61511).
13. Independently manage functional safety works, including concept, design, and approval of others' work.
14. Supervise the production of detailed EC&I specifications, drawings, schedules, and calculations.
15. Lead selection and specification of LV electrical items (distribution equipment, isolation, and control) and instrumentation equipment (flow, pressure, level, temperature, and analytical).
16. Proficient in EC&I design software such as AutoCAD 2D, AMTECH, AutoCAD Electrical (preferred).
17. Provide technical governance on URS and FDS documentation for automation.
18. Ensure all work adheres to current industry standards and codes of practice (ATEX, CDM, BS 7671, etc.).
19. Lead site surveys and provide engineering and technical support for site installation teams.
20. Lead cold and hot commissioning activities.

You will have the following qualifications and experience:

1. HNC/HND in EC&I Engineering.
2. Bachelor's BEng Degree in EC&I Engineering (preferred).
3. TUV Certification.
4. Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with an accredited organization (preferred).
5. 10+ years of experience in EC&I Engineering and Design.
6. Strong technical knowledge across EC&I engineering disciplines.
7. Experience applying relevant British and European standards and regulations.
8. Experience within the Process, Power, and Energy industries (desired).
