Job description

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Director of Software Engineering to lead our Automotive Software development team. As a key leader, you will lead the full life cycle of software solutions that operate within the Automotive ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background in Automotive and/or Embedded domain, strong leadership skills, the ability to drive large-scale initiatives in a fast-paced environment, and past experience and ability in leading and growing teams in at least three different countries covering a team size of 50 to upwards of 130 people.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide strategic direction and technical leadership for all software development activities related to Arm Automotive Solutions.
  2. Collaborate with executive leadership to align technology roadmaps with business objectives.
  3. Build, grow, lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team with presence in multiple countries, including managers, architects, and software engineers, embedding a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  4. Lead multiple software development projects, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and resources are led efficiently.
  5. Work closely with Product Management, QA, and Operations teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.
  6. Partner with company-wide teams, including Product, IT, Security, and Operations, to ensure the successful delivery of Automotive solutions software.
  7. Stay ahead of trends, standard processes, and innovations demonstrating this knowledge to guide the evolution of our platform and ensure future readiness.
  8. Provide hands-on guidance in software development, debugging, performance tuning, and systems integration to resolve technical challenges and drive platform efficiency.
  9. Implement standard methodologies and optimize software development processes (e.g., Agile, DevOps) to enhance team efficiency, improve product quality, and accelerate delivery.
  10. Identify and mitigate technical risks ensuring robust security, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Skills and Experience:
  1. Demonstrated significant experience driving large-scale software development initiatives.
  2. Demonstrated experience in managing and growing a team of between 50 to 130 people across multiple geographically dispersed countries.
  3. Deep understanding of the Automotive domain, industry standards, software frameworks, and associated toolchains.
  4. Experience of security, performance tuning, system architecture, releasing and maintenance.
  5. A solid technical background within automotive or embedded systems domain.
“Nice To Have”:
  1. Software leadership experience within Automotive OEM or Tier1.
  2. Experience of delivering and developing products that are Functionally Safe.
  3. Experience of the wider AI ecosystem, Arm architecture and relevant software ecosystems.
  4. Familiarity with open source software and working within open source ecosystems.
