Senior Design Architect (London)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Architect to join our dynamic team, specialising in the transport sector with a strong focus on airport design. The ideal candidate will play a key role in leading design initiatives, ensuring the successful delivery of world-class aviation infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished architect with a passion for transport infrastructure to contribute to major UK and international airport developments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Lead the design and delivery of large-scale airport and aviation-related projects from concept through to completion.
2. Develop innovative and sustainable architectural solutions that align with client requirements, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, and stakeholders, to integrate architectural design with technical and operational requirements.
4. Provide technical expertise and design leadership to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
5. Conduct feasibility studies, site evaluations, and design reviews to optimise project feasibility and performance.
6. Liaise with clients, authorities, and key stakeholders to ensure project alignment with regulatory and operational standards.
7. Mentor and guide junior architects and designers within the team.
8. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in transport and airport architecture.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

1. Proven experience in architectural design, with a strong emphasis on transport infrastructure and major airport projects in the UK and/or internationally.
2. Chartered Architect status (RIBA, ARB, or equivalent).
3. Proven track record in leading and delivering large-scale airport terminal, airside, and landside infrastructure projects.
4. Strong understanding of aviation regulations, airport master planning, and operational requirements.
5. Proficiency in architectural design software, such as Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, or equivalent.
6. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
7. International project experience and familiarity with global airport standards.

2. Good working knowledge of Revit and Adobe packages including knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, SketchUp etc.
