An exciting new role has been created at Smile TogetherDental CIC, working within our Harleigh Road Dental Clinic team, to support ourcontinuing business growth and development.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Practice Manager, thesuccessful candidate will ensure that the practice runs efficiently andsmoothly, that any changes are successfully implemented and monitored, and thatthe dental nurse and clinical support teams are providing appropriate supportfor the dentists and hygiene/therapists.You will be a professional leader in providingclinical support for the dental nursing and clinical support teams, encouragingthem to develop excellent working relationships and strong communication, todeliver maximum efficiency and quality services to our patients.

Job responsibilities

Job Summary

The post holder will support the Practice Manager to ensure that the practice runs efficiently and smoothly, that any changes are successfully implemented and monitored, and that the dental nurse and clinical support teams are providing appropriate support for the dentists and hygiene/therapists.

The post holder will be a professional leader in providing clinical support for the dental nursing and clinical support teams, encouraging them to develop excellent working relationships and strong communication, to deliver maximum efficiency and quality services to our patients.

Key accountabilities:

.

Actively work with the Practice Manager to meet company objectives, deliver KPIs and other practice targets

Support with the recruitment and selection of candidates for vacant roles in the team in line with company procedures to ensure high quality intake of employees into Smile Together

  • Maximise wellbeing and attendance of the team by supporting their management in line with company procedures
  • Support and mentor trainee dental nurses with their ongoing training and development

Maintain a robust system for the servicing, repairs and maintenance of the dental equipment and stock control to maximise the efficiency of the running of the clinics

Monitor the compliance management system and support any implement any issues with clinical governance, clinical risk management, and clinical effectiveness

Deputise for the Practice Manager in their absence, attending performance meetings and presenting reports

Ensure all policies, protocols and guidelines are being implemented and followed

Complete risk assessments and action plans when a risk is identified

Provide practical clinical support to the Practice Manager, including advice on training and development and operational support as required

Radiation protection supervisor for practice location

Infection prevention & control lead for practice location.

  • To act as the first point of contact for any safeguarding, child and adult protection concerns, providing timely, relevant support and advice in order to safeguard the patient, following Smile Togethers policy and procedures.

Support with the delivery and performance of the practice team, maximising efficiency and service delivery to ensure that company and personal delivery/performance targets are met

  • Support the operations team to deliver transformational change and innovation throughout the clinical teams in line with company strategy and contractual objectives

Play a valuable part in contributing to the success of our organisation

Be an ambassador for the companys vision, mission and values and demonstrate related behaviours

To professionally represent Smile Together as an ambassador for the company in this role, leading by example

Full GDC registration without conditions

  • Maintaining and developing your continuing professional/personal development according to agreed training needs via our Smile Together Training Academy and Perform
  • Working alongside clinical and professional support colleagues in service improvement and facilitating ongoing organisational change and development
  • Actively engaging with Smile Together teams and participating in audit activities, planning and development sessions, and in-house meetings etc
  • Being responsible for safe working and practice on a day-to-day basis, ensuring compliance with appropriate health, safety and security procedures within the work area, and reporting accidents, incidents and near misses using the Smile Together incident reporting procedure
  • Undertaking other reasonable duties as requested by the Practice or Service Manager and Smile Together Management Team

Person Specification

Experience

  • Competency in the common aspects of dental nursing and experience of a wide range of dental procedures acquired through training and clinical experience

Qualifications

  • NEBDN National Certificate in Dental Nursing or NVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing (DN)
  • Post qualification experience, minimum 5 years
  • Full registration with the General Dental Council and Professional Indemnity Insurance
