Senior Delivery Manager (Primary English)

Reports to: Head of School Experience and Programmes Director

Location: Currently operating hybrid working in our West London Office

Contract: Permanent

Pattern: Full Time (standard hours 9am – 5.30pm)

Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 (depending on experience)

About The Role:

The Senior Manager for Delivery for Primary English will be the authority within the organisation for delivery for the English Mastery programme. This role will bring together what we know about schools’ experience of the English Mastery programme to ensure that our training, professional development, and school development support equips schools to implement successfully and get the full benefit of the programme, and to pass important feedback back to the organisation.

The Senior Manager for Delivery for Primary English will work closely with the Programmes team to inform and align with pan-programme delivery decisions, and with the Head of English to understand the programme intent and interpret delivery decisions appropriately for Primary English. High attention to detail is essential to ensure that logistics are managed smoothly, and professional development resources are available on time and of high quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of a programme strategy that supports excellence in the context of English, and furthers the overall organisational mission, strategy, and sustainability.
  • Lead on identified pan-programme delivery projects.
  • Champion customer voice, ensuring customer insights from the English programme inform programme development and working with available Ark forums to enhance understanding of programme implementation.
  • Implement pan-programme delivery decisions in the context of the English programme while maintaining alignment with the school development team.
  • Take responsibility for the end-to-end user experience of schools on all packages of the programme, driving ease of use and preparing communications that keep customers informed.
  • Manage detailed training and professional development logistics, including setting training dates and anticipating operational challenges.
  • Engage with ongoing professional development and sector thinking, keeping up to date with developments and sharing insights with the broader team.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the English programme to provide high-quality training, professional development, and support.
  • Deliver training and professional development as required to an excellent standard in line with internal guidelines.
  • Provide one-to-one school development support across a portfolio of partner schools.
  • Contribute to the development of the overall programme strategy and structure through collaboration, especially by feeding back insights from schools.
  • Keep the partnerships team informed on delivery for the English programme.
  • Support partnerships initiatives to aid sales and marketing efforts, including leading webinars and information sessions.
  • Work proactively with the systems team to identify and prioritize process improvements.

Key Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Educated to degree level and qualified to teach in the UK.
  • Subject-specific qualification or further study desirable.
  • Understanding of the education landscape and issues affecting education.
  • At least five years’ teaching experience across at least two key stages.
  • A proven record in delivering outstanding achievement in English, particularly for pupils with low prior attainment in challenging urban schools.
  • Record of successfully leading change in a school context.
  • Track record of providing professional development to teachers, including coaching, mentoring, and training.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise written communications.
  • A strong and proactive communicator with a collaborative working style.
  • Team worker, with demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Commitment to excellence, with a strong focus on delivering intended outcomes.
  • Structured approach, working to clearly defined aims.
  • Ability to probe, challenge, and question appropriately.
  • High attention to detail and diligence in achieving smooth logistical delivery.
