About Job Role

Synacq Consulting Pte. Ltd. specialist in IT recruitment is looking for newly qualified or experienced Senior Database Administrator (SQL Server) to work in Singapore.

Requirement:

As a Senior DBA, the broad area of your job responsibilities will cover the following:

1. Lead and manage technical discussions in all aspects of database design, creation, and implementation approach.
2. Lead and manage database changes through change request process & provide status reports to the relevant parties.
3. Participate in development projects e.g. logical & physical database design.
4. Ability to understand data modeling and review the Data Model.
5. Ability to handle database migrations and implement appropriate Data Masking solutions.
6. Assist and respond promptly to incidents, investigate & provide temporary &/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated.
7. Involvement in performance tuning, performance management, and setup of Databases.
8. Lead and monitor & measure the performance & availability of databases proactively; implement corrective actions identified to improve performance & availability.
9. Lead and monitor the agreed service level, document & maintain the configuration of the databases; provide regular reporting to relevant parties.
10. Ensure service level meets requirements. Propose and implement action plan when required. Lead and monitor databases according to standard operations procedures.
11. Lead in the implementation of service continuity measures, i.e., backup/restore procedures & disaster recovery plan, to ensure continuous operation of the business.
12. Involve and lead in database implementation.

Ideal candidate should possess the following:

1. Degree in Computer Science or equivalent bachelor certification.
2. More than 5 years of experience in installation, configuration, & management of SQL Server databases.
3. Certification in SQL Server.
4. More than 2 years of experience of Advanced to Expert skills in all the following:
5. SQL Server Clustering & Always On Availability Group setup & management is a value added.
6. Experience in handling SQL server upgrade impact assessment, database migration.
7. Writing & debugging complex SQL statements, stored procedures & functions.
8. Must be able to design & implement relational tables using the proper degree of normalization & renormalizations.
9. ER-Diagram Designer Tools.
10. Performance Tuning.
11. Proper index design & able to identify good & bad index design.
12. Identify unused indexes & missing indexes.
13. Identify bottlenecks in SQL Statistics, execution plans.
14. Database Performance Monitoring using the following:
15. Extended Events.
16. Performance Monitoring Tool on SQL Server and Windows Counters.
17. Third-Party DB monitoring tools.
18. Database Performance Maintenance.
19. Index Reorganization/Rebuild.
20. Update Statistics.
21. Archival Strategies.
22. Experience in setting up & managing of DB replication is a value-add.
23. Experience in Oracle database installation & administration is a value-add.
24. Experience in cloud database migration is value-add.
