Job description

My client, an innovative Sports Analytics company in London, is seeking an exceptional Senior Data Scientist, with experience working within a sports/betting domain.

The Senior Data Scientist must have proven expertise in sports modelling to lead projects that improve my client's current production models, whilst developing new markets for a range of different sports.

The Senior Data Scientist will lead the development of models and supervise ad hoc analysis using a variety of data sources to solve tasks relevant to the business. These tasks include supporting the development of existing and/or new sports forecasting products.

The ideal candidate must have:

  1. Experience in the sports betting/analytics industry in a quantitative or data science role
  2. Significant experience and a passion for statistical modelling for sports such as NBA and MLB (ideally)
  3. Advanced knowledge of statistical modelling and machine learning, with relevant experience in the use of Python libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, xgboost, tensorflow, pymc3, statsmodels) and R equivalents
  4. Experience generating reports, dashboards, and data visualisations
  5. SQL experience as well as experience working with relational databases
  6. Excellent presentation, documentation, time management, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and autonomously across multiple teams.
